Teaching Assistant TA

We are looking for enthusiastic and fun special educational needs teaching assistants to work in a Mainstream school to start in September in Rochdale.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children, preferably those with additional needs but not essential
• Be comfortable managing children with autism, ADHD, aspergers and challenging behaviour and communication difficulties
• Enhanced DBS on the update service
• Strong and proactive work ethic
• Able to adapt to the different needs of each child
• Flexibly adhere to the needs of the pupils in a professional and friendly manner

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring pupils stay on task by managing disruptive behaviour
• Providing support to children on a 1 to 1 basis or in a group setting
• Assisting the teacher in planning engaging lessons for the class in line with school policies
• Liaising with the class teacher and parents to provide the best support
• Following an individual behavioural plan or care plan
• Be able to communicate with parents

Qualifications are not essential but would be desirable.
