A Design Manger is required for a tier one supplier to the automotive industry.

Our client are a polymer, composite and carbon fibre manufacturing company who work globally providing design solutions utilising their lightweight engineering and production knowledge.

The Design Manager will lead the management of modification feasibility, identifying requirement for mould flow and reviewing output for incorporation into tool design

As Design Manager - you will;

• Planning, scheduling and distribution of work for the CAD Department.
• Complete tool designs, modification and release of route cards/drawings.
• Responsible for design sign off.
• Undertaking periodic review meetings and regular feedback with the moulding department on tool performance to assist in the continuous improvement plans of the company.
• Mentor and develop members of the design team as required.
• Assist in managing and developing technical relationships/partnerships
• Support the Head of Engineering with NPI requirements.

As Design Manager - you will have

Degree qualified engineer or equivalent with relevant industry experience as an injection moulded tool designer

• Conceptual knowledge of fixture and pattern design.
• Understand how to interpret and create technical drawings
• Management experience of leading teams.
• The ability to work independently, to be self-driven and able to set and monitor own goals.
• A good communicator and team player.
