Newman & Co are a Chartered Accountancy practice serving the local businesses and individuals in East Anglia, with offices based in Diss, Beccles and Lowestoft. Established for over 25 years, offering a wealth of experience and expertise to their clients. Representing a broad client base ranging from individuals requiring assistance with their tax return, business start-ups and smaller companies, through to substantial farming partnerships and other larger enterprises.

Job description – Accountant:

Newman & Co currently have a full-time vacancy, based in the Beccles office, for an accountant with at least 2-3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice. The successful candidate will be supported during any continuation of their studies towards their professional accountancy qualifications.

Duties to include but are not limited to:

• Annual accounts preparation from client manual or computerized records for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Preparation of personal, partnership and corporate tax computations and returns.
• VAT return preparation and review.
• Assistance with bookkeeping for both internal and external assignments on such software as Quickbooks, Sage, Xero, Freeagent and others.
• Liaising with the clients and authorities.

Requirements – Accountant:

• AAT Qualified/ACA or ACCA Part -Qualified Accountant/ACA or ACCA Qualified
• At least 2-3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Good IT literacy
• A pro active approach and good problem-solving skills
