Based in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, our client, a growing presence in their field, is looking for a qualified accountant to join their dynamic finance team as a Finance Analyst on a permanent basis.

The company is a high growth international business with ambitious plans for further expansion and development. The Finance Analyst role is an integral part of the finance team managing the increase demands of a dynamic and proactive business.

The Finance Analyst will provide support to the senior management team to assist in making critical business decisions ensuring long term success and growth, drive financial planning and analysis, improve IT systems and procedures as well as partnering with other departments across the business to provide financial analysis to help drive business performance.

Duties will include:

• Prepare and publishing a timely monthly management pack to support the CFO with narrative and commentary on, budgets, variances, forecasts and provide meaningful insight and commercial analysis, suggesting improvements
• Prepare and analyse financial information for corporate accounting
• Partner with the management team providing key financial information to non-finance managers in a clear and effective manner.
• Take a financial lead with the CFO in departmental and inter-departmental meetings.
• Support budgeting and funding activities.
• Partner with management to explain the financial consequences of business decisions, including advising on the financial implications of projects.
• Monitor spending and financial controls.
• Ensure quality control and compliance through conducting internal business audits, developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• MIS super user, empower others to maximise value driven from MIS, suggesting updates and improvements for accounting systems.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Fixed asset register maintenance.
• Deputise for the CFO as directed by the CEO.

The Ideal candidate for the Finance Analyst:

• Qualified Accountant with analytical/ business partnering experience ideally gained in a SME manufacturing business
• Experienced in providing monthly and ad hoc management information to Senior Executives
• Analytically strong with highly developed knowledge and ability to use IT systems to improve processes and convert data into meaningful business information
• Advanced / strong excel and reporting skills
• The ability to communicate and influence non-finance manager across the business
• Well-developed planning and organisational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and able to effectively challenge business managers
• Ability to work independently
